Taipei101

Many years ago, the Netherlands controlled the whole Taiwan. At that time, the business center was in Tainan, a port city in the southwest of Taiwan. Taipei, the capital right now, wasn’t developed at that time. After four hundred years, Taipei became the capital and the tallest building, Taipei 101, is now the representative of Taiwan.
Taipei 101 is 508 meters tall. It was the highest building in the world several years ago. There are 101 floors. From the 27th floor to the 90th floor, eight floors are a stage. With the sound of eight in Mandarin Chinese, it means getting rich. Looking at Taipei 101 from the outside, it is not only fashionable but also traditional. It looks like a growing bamboo which has a meaning of prosperity.  So it symbolizes that our country will be prosperous day by day.

food fair

I think having food fair is a good activity. You can not only learn English but also have delicious food. In the learning part, you can learn some vocabulary, recipes of traditional Taiwanese food, and the correct English name of that kind of Taiwanese food. For example, the real name of 刈包 is steamed burger. In the food part, the food, every team prepared, was delicious. While we were eating, friendships developed and also saved money for that night’s dinner. As for the table manners, it’s quite important to follow the rules while you’re eating with guests or elders. If you don’t obey the rules, they might think that you’re not polite.
